The book shares longevity secrets from the longest-lived regions around the planet – called the “Blue Zone”.
And Sardinia island (Italy) is one such place.
So why do Sardinians live so long and stay healthy? Here are their longevity habits.
Sardinia is the largest Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea, famous for its people's healthy living habits.
Sardinia island has the highest proportion of people aged 100 and over, with the proportion of 100-year-olds twice as high as elsewhere.
1- What do Sardinians eat?
The Sardinian longevity diet consisted of whole wheat bread, vegetables, fruits and beans which are the main components of the Mediterranean diet including meat and fish.
2- What do Sardinians drink?
Interestingly, the Sardinians also drank a little. They drink alcohol in moderation, about 1-2 glasses of red wine a day.
Wine has 2 - 3 times higher flavonoid content. Flavonoids help clean arteries very well.
Moderate drinking may help reduce stress in men.
Another popular healthy drink is goat's milk.
