Seoul ranked 10th Best city for Global Startup Ecosystem in 2022



In the report "Global Startup Ecosystem 2022" published by research firm Startup Genome in London (UK), Silicon Valley was ranked the highest place, Seoul (South Korea) was ranked 10th in the group of cities with strong startup ecosystems.

The study surveyed 280 cities in 100 countries to give a new rating review, in addition to Silicon Valley being ranked the highest place, the US also had New York and Boston ranked 2nd and 4th place respectively in the rankings The British capital London ranks the 3rd place while China has Beijing and Shanghai in 5th and 8th place respectively.

This year, the capital Seoul (South Korea) is ranked the 10th place in the group of cities with strong startup ecosystems, significantly increasing from the 16th place in 2021.

According to Startup Genome's assessment, the value of the startup ecosystem in Seoul is 223 trillion won (equivalent to 173.4 billion USD), a sharp increase from 54 trillion won a year ago.  Seoul is highly rated in 5 out of 6 ecosystem assessments in which the startup funding category ranks first among Asian countries.
