German technology company Volocopter recently tested an drone taxi for the first time in normal air traffic condition.

German technology company Volocopter recently tested an drone taxi for the first time in normal air traffic condition.

The test site is an area outside Paris, France.  The drone taxi model, named 2X, resembles a large unmanned aircraft with eight propellers, capable of taking off vertically.

The plane took off with one passenger in the cabin and moved while other aircraft were nearby.

The test is an additional step towards the possibility of commercial operation of this flying taxi in 2024 when France will host the Olympics.
