This trend is especially relevant for independent entrepreneurs who have built their own business and can run it from anywhere in the world, as long as they have a good internet connection.

Freelance workers are often the ones who prioritize the trend of remote working the most.  According to research by MBO Partners, up to 4.1 million workers or 56% of those interviewed said that they are freelancers, independent contractors or run their own businesses. Among them, 83% of respondents said that they work remotely at least part of the day and 37% of them said they work remotely.

However, this trend is not limited to self-employed people.  At least about 3.1 million workers or 44% of the respondents said that they are also doing traditional jobs in this way.

Research by MBO Partners shows that about 13% of respondents said that they are working in sectors as consulting, training and research, 13% in sectors as sales, marketing and PR, 9% in the field of information technology and 9% of them do creative works.

However, these types of jobs also require workers with other unique skills.  About 65% of digital nomads say their work requires a high level of expertise, training and education in a fairly thorough way.  Among them, up to 51% are those with a college degree or higher.

Most people who pursue the digital nomad style (about 79%) share that they feel very satisfied or satisfied with their current job and lifestyle.  Up to 60% of them think that they will continue to pursue this working style for at least another 2 years.

In the future, with the increasingly strong development of this working trend, it will lead to the development of other forms of working cooperation and sharing living space.  Along with that, this working trend will also have a strong impact on the activities of other areas of life as the emergence of different types of tourism combined with work, changing trends in the labor market and the way other industries operate.

Besides, accompanying this working trend, there are other related activities appearing as the Safety Wing health insurance package, the tax and fee policy for self-employed workers,..

According to information that have gotten from a summary of the Institute for Employment and Education at Berkeley, it is estimated that only about 9% of California's freelancers, or well-paid professionals as  attorneys, accountants, doctors, dentists, or real estate professionals…will still be able to continue to work in this working form while AB-5 goes into effect.

27% of freelancers in mid-paying sectors, including construction workers, hairdressers, barbers, designers and other artists, writers, editors, photographers or business representative, may only continue to work if certain other strict conditions are met.

For now, though, the digital nomad trend will continue to grow.  With more and more people, of different ages, want both experience and explore the world, and combine work and earn a living, this trend will grow even stronger in the future with the advancement of science and technology.
